 UnumProvident Offers Electronic Claims Monitoring Service 

 

UnumProvident Corporation, a provider of income protection insurance, has launched a virtual claim monitoring service to assist claimants in managing their information and checking their claim status. The new Web site, available to active group disability claimants of UnumProvident and its subsidiaries, gives claimants the opportunity to supply missing and new information, report a return-to-work date, provide maternity-leave information, and update contact information.

Changes made both by Unum-Provident and by the claimant are available in real time on the secure site. And since the company’s internal business partners are linked by the same systems, all departments from billing to customer service will be aware of updates and changes.

“UnumProvident is built around our promise to our customers to provide a high level of service and to pay all valid claims in a timely manner and with compassion,” says Bob Best, executive vice president of service operations and CIO. “The enhanced Web services programs are designed to offer our customers one more way to give us the information we need to make decisions about their claims in a timely and informed fashion.”

Not only can claimants visit the site to change and update information, but the site also will allow them to keep track of the status of any claims they have with UnumProvident and will give details regarding the claims process from submitting a claim to cutting the check.
