Innovation in Insurance (i3) and Strategy Meets Action (SMA) have announced a summer internship partnership. An i3 staff member will work with SMA this summer conducting and participating on various research projects.
This partnership allows a student interested in pursuing a career in insurance and technology a work experience that expands their insurance knowledge by working with an insurance strategic advisory services firm.
In exchange, SMA will make a donation to support a student associate for an academic year.
“The partnership between SMA and i3 opens new avenues,” says Frank Heaps, director of the i3 program. “Supporting summer projects with industry research and analyst firms offers the i3 students a chance to work with industry experts. This will quickly expose the students to information that would take them years to learn, and quickly deepens their knowledge of the insurance technology industry. SMA is providing our first venture into this option.”
“We are thrilled to have a summer intern from the i3 program and look forward to possibilities of expanding this program into the fall as well,” says Deb Smallwood, founder of SMA. “It’s a perfect fit for SMA. The intern helps expand our research base and the intern has the opportunity to learn as much as possible this summer about insurance and technology. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
